Toronto Paramedic Services’ driver trainers invite members of the media to become “paramedic trainees” for an hour on Wednesday during Toronto Public Service Week, September 21 to 25. Participants will be tested on their driving skills while experiencing the rigorous driving test faced by paramedic trainees.

Date: Wednesday, September 23
Time: 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Members of the media who wish to drive an ambulance are asked to book a one-hour training time with the media contact identified below. No pre-booking is required for photographers who will not be driving.
Location: Toronto Paramedic Services’ driver training site (skid-pad parking lot, 350 Wilson Heights Blvd.)

Toronto paramedics are not only skilled medical professionals, they are also skilled drivers. Before receiving an offer of employment to become a Toronto paramedic, employee candidates must pass a driving skills test.

Media may also use this opportunity to take photographs of Toronto Paramedic Services’ vehicles now branded “Toronto Paramedic Services” to update photo libraries.
