Hello and welcome to our new website. I am Paul Raftis, the Chief of Toronto Paramedic Services.

Today’s ambulance Service has evolved so significantly since the 1970’s that the two are barely recognizable when compared to each other.

Today’s paramedics are college graduates, highly educated and highly trained in pre-hospital paramedicine that is life-changing and life-saving.

And we are more than this – our emergency medical dispatchers answer thousands of 9-1-1 calls, delivering precise pre-arrival instructions to allow callers to render first aid while the ambulance is on the way.

Both paramedics and EMDs use modern, state-of-the-art technology and clinical best practices to help our patients when they need it most.

The technology, equipment and vehicles are highly specialized for the work we perform. And, they are maintained and serviced by our dedicated and highly-trained support staff.

Our new name, “Toronto Paramedic Services” represents all of our dedicated people and the variety of skilled disciplines that create one of the world’s leading pre-hospital care systems.
